John Robert "Bob" Raffa

WELLSVILLE - John Robert "Bob" Raffa, 84, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born May 7, 1940, in East Liverpool, the son of the late John Arnold and Ella Gertrude (Allison) Raffa. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Esther Raffa of Austintown.

Bob graduated from Wellsville High School in 1958 and served his country in the United States Army. He was a draftsman by trade, having been employed at the former Crucible Steel Mill and retiring from the Columbiana County Auditor's Office.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra "Sonnie" (Hermand) Raffa, whom he married August 31, 1963; two children: Tim (Brenda) Raffa of Highlandtown and Hope (John) Goempel of St. Louis, MO; and one sister, Shelva (Tom) Wilson of East Liverpool. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Emily Raffa (Brad Brown), Ashley (Jeff) Hissam, Aryn Goempel, and Jordan Goempel (Shannon O'Guinn); and two great-grandchildren: Jefferey and Amyah Hissam.

According to Bob's wishes, no services will be held. Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with his arrangements.
