WELLSVILLE - John Louis Yanni, Jr., 66, of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 25, 1957, in East Liverpool, the son of Kaye (Heiney) and John Louis Yanni, Sr. of Chino, CA.

John graduated from Wellsville High School in 1975. He served in the United States Air Force for over seventeen years before retiring in 1995. John was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed playing golf and watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and Cleveland Browns - while loathing anything to do with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of Wellsville First Christian Church. Above all else, John most enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Joey.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Debra (Springer) Yanni, whom he married in 1978; one sister, Julie Cannataro of Chino, CA; one brother, Greg Yanni of Chino, CA; and his grandson, Joseph John Montero of Wellsville. John also leaves behind his fur-baby, Stimble.

John was preceded in death by one daughter, Lyndsay Brooke Yanni; one son, Eric Matthew Yanni; and one brother, Doug Yanni.

A memorial service celebrating John's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 12, 2023, at the Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street in Wellsville, with Pastor Mark Blakeley officiating. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. The Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors.
