Joseph R. "Wee Wee" Albaneso, Sr.

WELLSVILLE - Joseph R. "Wee Wee" Albaneso, Sr., 88, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016, at Guardian Health Care in Youngstown.

He was born July 9, 1927, in Wellsville, the son of the late Rocco and Marguerite (Baldasare) Albaneso. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death on May 11, 2004, by his wife, Marie Jean (Freeman) Albaneso, whom he married June 25, 1951, and two sons: Anthony Albaneso in 1955 and Joseph R. Albaneso, Jr. in 2009. He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter: Shelby Albaneso Talbott in 2012, one sister: Ruby Guido; and five brothers: Anthony, Carl, Ralph, Mike, and John "Rocco" Albaneso.

Joe graduated from Wellsville High School in 1945, and he served in the United States Army. He was employed for forty years as a laborer in the transportation department for the former Crucible Steel Mill before retiring in 1982.

Survivors include one daughter: Marguerite Albaneso of Wellsville; and one son: David Albaneso and his wife, Debbie, of Wellsville. Also surviving are four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
