Karen L. Tice

WELLSVILLE - Karen L. Tice, 70, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

She was born July 27, 1946, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Luella K. (Rockhold) and Kenneth E. Maylone, Sr. Karen was also preceded in death on July 3, 2007, by her husband, Harold Lee Tice, whom she married November 4, 1965.

Karen graduated from Wellsville High School in 1964. She had previously been employed for thirteen years as a front desk clerk for the hotel at Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort. She was a member of the Wellsville United Methodist Church where she served as chairman of the board and was a singer and puppeteer in the Wild Bunch. She was also a member of the Wellsville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Wellsville High School Alumni Dinner Committee, and Wellsville High School Band Boosters.

Survivors include one daughter, Karenna Harty and her husband, Mike, of Wellsville; two sisters: Janet Jacobson and her husband, Gene, of Cleburne, TX, and Susan Drysdale and her husband, Randy, of Wellsville; and one brother, Kenneth E. Maylone, Jr. and his wife, Cassie, of Wellsville. Also surviving are two granddaughters: Kristen Harty of East Liverpool and Kaleigh Harty of Sandy Springs, GA; five great-grandchildren: Michael Harty, and Katie, Ryan, Kolton, and Karenna Burkhammer; twenty-one nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Karen also leaves behind her best friend of forty-five years, Sherrill Jackson, and her beloved fur-daughter, Eve.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Monday, March 20, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with her nephew, Pastor Kenneth Maylone, of the church officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 pm Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
