Katherine V. "Kay" Drago

EAST LIVERPOOL - Katherine V. "Kay" Drago, 92, of East Liverpool, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018.

She was born April 25, 1926, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late James and Cecilia (Cuffaro) Viola. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death on June 27, 2010, by her husband, Jerome James Drago, whom she married September 30, 1950. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Samuel Conti, and her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Josephine Viola.

Known to many as "Nana", there was nothing Kay enjoyed more than spending time with her family and cooking for anyone who entered her home. She especially enjoyed Sunday dinners where extra place settings were always ready. Moreover, Kay was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. As a true nurturer at heart, she always had time for family and friends.

Kay was Catholic by faith and had attended the former Immaculate Conception Church and Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church. She was a member of 30+30 at St. Aloysius and was also a member of the Ladies Knights of Columbus. Over the years, Kay enjoyed playing cards and board games. She loved her card club ladies and the "lunch bunch". She also loved crocheting many keepsakes.

Kay will be dearly missed by her children: Mary (Rocky) Zirillo of East Liverpool, Jim (Terri) Drago of Wellsville, and Vince (Tami) Drago of East Liverpool. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Mary Kay (Josh) Moore, Jesse (Bethany) Zirillo, Leigh Anne (Ryan) Miller, Jared (Beth) Zirillo, Alyssa Drago, Zach Drago, Joseph Zirillo, Dominique Powell, Jen (Chris) Butler, and Tera (Blake) Kazee; twelve great-grandchildren: Kallee, Amiyah, Joshua, Landon, Silas, Judah, Leonardo, Alex, Elise, Jael, Carmen, and Kennedi; and two sisters-in-law: Genevieve (Frank) Sonson and Lucille Drago. Memories will also be treasured by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The Catholic Burial Rite will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 17, 2018, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Jeeson Stephan of Sacred Heart Church officiating.

Burial will be in St Elizabeth Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit from 2:00 - 6:00 pm on Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
