Kenneth L. DeLauder

WELLSVILLE - Kenneth L. DeLauder, 91, of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Stonepear Pavilion in Chester, WV.

He was born January 7, 1927, in Brownton, WV, the son of the late George and Anice (Hill) DeLauder. In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death on January 1, 1996, by his wife, Elsie (Carson) DeLauder, whom he married October 2, 1948. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Sheets, and three brothers: Ersel, Reginald, and Dorman DeLauder.

Kenny graduated from Wellsville High School in 1945 and served in the United States Army after World War II. He had been employed in the hot strip at Crucible Steel Mill before retiring in 1982. Kenny served as the president of the Wellsville Alumni Activities Committee and spearheaded the remodeling of the Wellsville Alumni Center. He was also a member of the Wellsville VFW Post 5647.

Survivors include two daughters: Linda Cochran and her husband, Steve, of Chester, WV, and Sharon French and her husband, Bob, of Pittsburgh, PA; and one son: Kenneth Delauder, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Wellsville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Melanie (Phil) Husoveck, Marty Thorn, Amanda DeLauder, and Kenneth A. (Christy) DeLauder; seven great-grandchildren, and his companion of sixteen years, Ruth DeLauder.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating. Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors at 12:45 pm.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
