WELLSVILLE - Larry Richard Paynter, 75, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023, at East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 11, 1947, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Raymond and Amy (Nolan) Paynter. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by five siblings: Frank and Ron Paynter, Judy Habbard, Janet Factura, and Ginni Rae Albaneso.

Larry graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1967. He was previously employed in the housekeeping department at East Liverpool City Hospital, as an EMT for Tri-County and Lifeteam Ambulance Companies, for Wellsville and Leetonia Police Departments, and he retired from the Columbiana County Sheriff's office. Larry was an avid golfer, and he loved to dance and sing. He enjoyed watching Western movies and was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns. Larry was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and most recently attended Campground Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa (Caruso) Paynter, whom he married May 23, 1981; two children: Michael Paynter of New Cumberland, WV and Adam Paynter of East Liverpool; and three siblings: James (Diana) Paynter of Cincinnati, Linda Davis, his twin sister, of East Liverpool, and John (Sherry) Paynter of Elkton. Also surviving are his brother-in-law, Jerry Factura of Goose Creek, SC; sister-in-law, Angela (Gary) Reese of East Liverpool; many grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including his special niece, Mandi (Reed) Nutter of Lima, OH.

The funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Adkins of the church officiating.

Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
