Laura M. Roberts

WELLSVILLE - Laura M. Roberts, 96, of Wellsville, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

She was born May 18, 1918, in Wade, OH, the daughter of the late Hazel (Moore) and Elmer Farnsworth and Lemuel Rouse.

Laura was preceded in death on November 11, 1998, by her husband, James F. Roberts, whom she married February 7, 1948. She was also preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.

Laura, along with her husband Jim, owned and operated The Little Fashions Shoppe and Candy Store in Wellsville for many years. She was a member of the Golden Links senior citizens organization and was Catholic by faith.

Survivors include one daughter: Sherry Jackson and her husband, James, of Steubenville; one son: James "Jim" Roberts and his wife, Cindy, of Wellsville; and one sister: Dolly Heid of Brewster, OH. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Shawn (Angie) Baker, Jason (Meghan) Roberts, Stacey (Michael) DeSarro, Nick Jackson, Vickie Jackson, and Melissa Jackson; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Catholic burial rite will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, January 5, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Deacon Dr. Robert Cuttica officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
