Lawrence Paul Dailey

EAST LIVERPOOL - Lawrence Paul Dailey, 89, of East Liverpool, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born September 23, 1927, in Meigs County, OH, the son of the late Omer and Winnie (Johnson) Dailey. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death on October 11, 1995, by his wife, Betty E. (Boyce) Dailey, whom he married August 28, 1948. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Dailey, and one sister, Faye Czech.

Lawrence served in the United States Army during World War II. He was employed for thirty-two years as an operator on the AOD furnace for the former Crucible Steel Mill before retiring in 1982. Lawrence was an avid deer hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include one daughter: Kathy Creaturo and her husband, Steve, of Wellsville; one son: John E. Dailey of East Liverpool; and three sisters: Thelma Miller and her husband, Ralph, of East Liverpool, Ruby Ludwig of Brexville, OH, and Marie Autherson of Meigs County, OH. Also surviving are three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of Wellsville First Christian Church officiating. The Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors.

Burial will be in Calcutta United Presbyterian Cemetery.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
