Leola Martin

WELLSVILLE - Leola Martin, 66, of Wellsville, died Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born January 12, 1946, in Wellsville, a daughter of the late Eddie and Naomi (Cook) Murphy.

Leola retired in 2011 as a customer service representative for National Church Supply, where she had been employed for 43 years.

She was a 1963 graduate of Wellsville High School and a member of Lee's Chapel AME Church.

Survivors include one daughter: Loretta D. Manahan of Philadelphia, New York; one son: Andrew E. Martin of Wellsville; three sisters: Gwendolyn "Gwen" Murphy of Wellsville, Eddie Mae Murphy of Buena Park, California, and Nellie Ruth Huff of Wellsville; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Fuller B. Murphy.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Lee's Chapel AME Church, 1325 Center Street, Wellsville, with Reverend Roosevelt Thompson of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
