Loraine Garnet Smith

SALEM - Loraine Garnet Smith, 93, of Salem, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born August 21, 1922, in Olive Hill, KY, the daughter of the late Charles and Lela (Harris) Parsons. In addition to her parents, Loraine was preceded in death by her husband, Howard F. Smith, and one grandchild.

Loraine had previously been employed as a nurse's aide for East Liverpool City Hospital. She was Methodist by faith.

Survivors include two daughters: Joyce Murphy of Waynesboro, PA and Darlene Jenkins of Salem; and two sons: Larry Smith of Youngstown and Robert Smith and his wife, Debbie, of Hanoverton. Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

According to Loraine's wishes, no services were held. Burial will be at a later date in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with arrangements.
