Loretta M. David

WELLSVILLE - Loretta M. David, 82, of Wellsville, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Lifeline Hospital in Wintersville.

She was born December 10, 1931, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Leonard and Helen (Maylone) Starkey.

Loretta was preceded in death on February 28, 1989, by her husband, Charles E. David, Sr., whom she married May 29, 1948.

She was a member of the Golden Star Mothers, V.F.W. Post 5647 Auxiliary, and the American Legion Post 70 Auxiliary. Loretta was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Survivors include two daughters: Connie Moore of Wellsville, and Lori Wooten and her husband, Ted, of East Liverpool; three sons: Lennie David and his wife, Glena, of Wellsville, Jimmie David of Wellsville, and Mike David and his wife, Susan, of East Liverpool; one step-son: Chester Studdard of Houston, TX; two sisters: Mary Miller of Wellsville, and Goldie Smith of East Liverpool; and one brother: Jay Starkey of East Liverpool. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Loretta was preceded in death by one son: Charles E David, Jr., who was killed while serving in the United States Army in Vietnam; one sister: Dolores Lohman; and one brother: Richard Starkey.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
