Marcella Mae Heckathorn

EAST PALESTINE - Marcella Mae Heckathorn, 89, of East Palestine, formerly of Wellsville, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, at The Christian House in East Palestine.

She was born October 11, 1927, in Holidays Cove, WV, the daughter of the late John and Alice (Ruble) Gooch. In addition to her parents, Marcella was preceded in death on January 13, 2009, by her husband, Robert Heckathorn, whom she married July 30, 1949. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Holly Cook; three sisters: Arlene Gooch, Janice Brown, and Dorothy Bickerstaff; and one brother, John W. "Bill" Gooch.

Marcella graduated from Toronto High School in 1945. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, "Bubba", and sister. She was a member of Yellow Creek Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one son, M. Robert Heckathorn and his wife, Gretchen, of East Palestine; one sister, Erlene Mazingo of Toronto; and one granddaughter, Abigail Mae Heckathorn of East Palestine.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 24, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Price of East Palestine Church of the Nazarene officiating.

Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 pm Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
