Margaret M. "Margie" Dodson

WELLSVILLE - Margaret M. "Margie" (Jackson-Varner) Dodson, 71, of Wellsville, died Friday, November 22, 2013, at home.

She was born February 15, 1942, in Yellow Creek Township, the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Zearly) Jackson. Margie was raised by her adoptive parents, the late Edda R. (Zearly) and John W. Varner, Sr.

She was preceded in death on May 26, 2012, by her husband Donald Paul Dodson, whom she married November 17, 1964.

Margie graduated from David Anderson High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1965. Following her military service, she was an administrator for the Veteran's Administration. She was a member of the former Wellsville Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include one daughter: Dana Colella of Wellsville; one son: Darren Dodson and his wife Susan of Negley; seven sisters: Violet "Vi" Reardon of East Liverpool, Marian "Missy" Perkins of Wellsville, Mary Thomas of East Liverpool, Phyllis Jackson of Lisbon, Sally Pinz of Louisville, OH, Cynthia Sue Morris of Guilford Lake, and Rebekah Groves of Franklin, TN; and two brothers: Jerry Jackson of Wellsville, and John W. Varner, Jr. of Etowah, TN. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Francesca and Dante Colella of Wellsville, and Kalyn and Kylee Dodson of Plano, TX; and three step-grandchildren: Heather DeFilippo, Kyle Matthew and J.T. Thomas, all of Negley.

In addition to her husband and parents, Margie was preceded in death by two sisters: Emma Jean Martin and Betty "Peaches" Korbel; and two brothers: Luther "Nib" Jackson and Ferry Jackson.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dirk Hall of the Living Well Church officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Tri-State Burial Group.

Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, November 25, 2013, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Margie's name to the Living Well Church, 403 17th Street, Wellsville, OH, 43968.
