Margaret Irene Joy

WELLSVILLE - Margaret Irene Joy, 82, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, January 1, 2018, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born June 26, 1935, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Roy E. and Pearl L. (Steiner) Ammon. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death on December 22, 2015, by her husband, Charles F. Joy, Sr., whom she married December 19, 1959. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Harry, Richard, Ronald, and Roy Ammon, Jr.

Margaret graduated from Wellsville High School in 1953. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Crissman of Wellsville; three sons: Charles Frederick Joy, Jr. of Washington, Robert Joy of East Liverpool, and Thomas Joy of Wellsville; and two sisters: Shirley Balser and Donna Glazebrook, both of Wellsville; and two brothers: Jack Ammon of Mingo Junction and Ralph "Butch" Ammon of Wellsville. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Dyer officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
