Margaret Lynn Russell

WELLSVILLE - Margaret Lynn Russell, 68, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born November 13, 1946, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Donald H. and Mary (Valentine) Gates. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Donald H. Gates, Jr.

Margaret graduated from Wellsville High School in 1964 and from Kent State University. She was employed as a bakery supervisor for IGA and also taught at Stratton Elementary School. She attended Wellsville First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Russell, whom she married October 24, 1970; one son: Larry T. Russell and his wife, Robin, of Shadyside, OH; three grandchildren: Emily, Timmy, and Derrick; three aunts to whom she was exceptionally close: Hazel Sell, Sara DeLauder, and Della Erwin; and one niece: Michelle Gates.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 17, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the church officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
