Margaretta J. Rowley

IRONDALE - Margaretta J. Rowley, 86, of Irondale, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born June 27, 1934, in Hammondsville, the daughter of the late Walter and Retta (Elliott) Cope. In addition to her parents, Margaretta was preceded in death on August 2, 2018, by her husband, John R. Rowley, whom she married September 14, 1952. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one granddaughter.

Margaretta graduated from Irondale High School in 1952. She was employed for twenty-five years as the department head in the softlines department at Hills Department Store before retiring in 1996.

Survivors include two daughters: Ronda Board and her husband, Frank, of Salineville, and Debbie Scott of Irondale; two sons: James Rowley and his wife, Janice, of Wellsville, and Darren Rowley and his wife, Zaida, of Wendell, NC; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of people in the funeral home at one time will be limited to maintain proper social distancing protocols. Also, in compliance with the orders of Governor Mike DeWine, masks must be properly worn while in the funeral home.

A private family service will be held with Pastor Greg Pennington officiating.

Burial will be in Hammondsville Cemetery.
