Mary S. DeSenze

WELLSVILLE - Mary S. DeSenze, 88, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

She was born January 15, 1928, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Dominic and Ann (Fusco) Rivelle. Mary was also preceded in death on August 9, 1991, by her husband, Philip S. DeSenze, whom she married June 21, 1947.

Mary graduated from Wellsville High School in 1946. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Mary also worked in the cafeteria for the Wellsville School District. She was a member of the Wellsville Sons of Italy Lodge 657, the Altar and Rosary Society, and was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Mary enjoyed getting together with her friends to play Tripoley. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the former Immaculate Conception Church.

Survivors include one daughter: Susan Brown and her husband, Brent, of Fayettville, NC; two sons: Peter DeSenze and his wife, Linda, of Margate, FL, and Dr. Philip DeSenze and his wife, Anna, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three sisters: Rose Granito of Midland, Lucille Drago of Wellsville, Mary Ann Kennedy and her husband, Kim, of East Liverpool; and two brothers: Nick Rivelle of Midland and Frank Rivelle of Wellsville. Also surviving are six grandchildren.

A private Catholic Funeral Liturgy was held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius where Rev. Melvin Ruznak presided.

Burial was in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Wellsville.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville was entrusted with the arrangements.
