Mary Alice Johnston

WELLSVILLE - Mary Alice Johnston, 95, of Wellsville, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 13, 1919, in Salineville, the daughter of the late David and Mary (May) Adams.

Mary was preceded in death on August 2, 1972, by her husband, William G. Johnston, whom she married in July of 1940. She was also preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.

Mary graduated from Salineville High School in 1937. She was employed for twenty-eight years as a ward clerk for the obstetrics department at East Liverpool City Hospital before retiring in 1987. She attended Covenant Presbyterian Church where she helped in the kitchen and faithfully attended Bible study.

Survivors include one daughter: Susan Carroll and her husband, Jerry, of Leetonia; and two sons: Richard Johnston and his wife, Linda, of Wellsville, and David Johnston and his wife, Donna, of Lexington, SC. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 7, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Monte of the church officiating.

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
