Mary J. Mills

WELLSVILLE - Mary J. Mills, 83, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, at Valley Oaks Care Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born January 3, 1932, in Hammondsville, the daughter of the late John and Geraldine (Christen) Baker. In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by her step-son, Robert Mills, her son-in-law, Steve May, her granddaughter, Erica Lassan, and her two sisters: Alta Nicholson and Bernice Crawford.

Mary was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW Post 5647. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Mills, whom she married March 1, 1957; three daughters: Kathy Kramer and her husband, Robert, of Steubenville, Vickie Ann Lassan and her companion, Paul Stunda, of Follansbee, WV, and Rebecca May and her companion, Robert Brewer, of Wellsville; one son: David Rowley of Wellsville; one step-son: Lawrence "Larry" Mills of Wellsville; one brother: Charles Baker and his wife, Janette, of Wellsville; one daughter-in-law: Bonnie Mills of Beaver Falls, PA; and one brother-in-law: Jim Crawford of Irondale. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Sueanne Lassan and her companion, Zach Hesske, Joanna and Robert Scheller, Mandy and Tim Gensemore, Tina and Greg Becouvarakis, Lynn and Doug Vanzandt, Kevin and Judy Mills, and Jennifer and Brian Lake, as well as sixteen grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
