Mary G. Vaness

WELLSVILLE - Mary G. "Boots" Vaness, 85, of Wellsville, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at St. Mary's Alzheimers Center.

She was born October 19, 1929, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Anthony and Clara (Metsch) Buchmann. Boots was also preceded in death by one sister: Delores McKinney; and one brother: Jim Buchmann.

Boots graduated from Wellsville High School. She was employed in the decal department at the former Sterling China Company. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church.

Survivors include her husband, Richard R. Vaness, whom she married September 19, 1950; and her sister-in-law: Mary Ellen Reed of Wellsville.

According to her wishes, no services were held.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville was entrusted with arrangements.
