Mary Ethel Williams-Cheuvront

WELLSVILLE - Mary Ethel Williams-Cheuvront, 88, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

She was born March 14, 1926, in Weirton, WV, the daughter of the late Lewis A. and Mary Luella (Benner) Whitaker.

Mary was preceded in death on November 2, 1985, by her first husband, Clarence E. "Dutch" Williams, whom she married August 14, 1943, and in August of 2000, by her second husband, Walter Cheuvront, whom she married November 28, 1999. She was also preceded in death in 2006 by her son, Delbert Lee Williams, and by her brother, Ralph Albert Whitaker.

Mary graduated from David Anderson High School in 1943. She was a self-employed farmer and a member of the farm bureau and Yellow Creek Grange. Mary was also a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one daughter: Karen Palmer and her husband, Bob, of Wellsville; one son: Keith Williams of Lisbon; and five grandchildren: Lisa (Scott) Kirven of Wadsworth, OH, Kimberly Carnegie and her fiancé, Mark Johnston, of West Point, Kevin (Ashley) Williams of Charleston, WV, Tom Williams and his significant other, Kelsey, of Indianapolis, IN, and Cody Williams of Weirton, WV. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren: Ashley and Evan Carnegie, Claire and Casey Kirven, and Emalyn Williams.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Blakeley of Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
