Melvin H. Clark

LISBON - Melvin H. Clark, 88, of Lisbon, formerly of East Liverpool, died Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Vista Center.

He was born March 5, 1928, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Thomas R. and Eva (Mitchell) Clark. In addition to his parents, Mel was preceded in death by his brother, James A. Clark, one grandson, and one great-grandson.

Melvin graduated from Wellsville High School in 2002. Mel's graduation was delayed because of his service in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the House of Prayer and received his minister's license in 1982. Mel was an overhead craneman at the former Crucible Steel Mill before retiring in 1982 after thirty-five years of employment.

Survivors include his wife, Nell (Redmond) Clark, of Lisbon, whom he married May 7, 1949; one daughter: Rhonda L. Reed and her husband, Richard, of Lisbon; one son: Michael H. Clark and his wife, Janice, of Warren; and one sister: Vivian D. Lawrence and her husband, Joel, of Wellsville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Michael Clark, Jason (Candy) Reed, Bradley (Elizabeth) Reed, and Rachael (Mike) Palmer; and nine great-grandchildren.

Melvin's life will be celebrated with a memorial service at a future date. Burial will take place in Lisbon Cemetery.

The Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville was entrusted with Melvin's arrangements.
