Michael E. Buren

WELLSVILLE - Michael E. Buren, 76, of Wellsville, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at his home following a brief illness.

He was born July 29, 1945, in Wellsville, the son of the late Ralph Buren and Atha (Collins) Wilfing. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death on April 28, 2019, by his wife, Evelyn (Shingleton) Buren, whom he married February 24, 1967. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Potts.

Mike graduated from Wellsville High School in 1965. He was employed for thirty-four years as a custodian for the East Liverpool School District before retiring in 2004. He was a lifetime member of the Wellsville Alumni Association, and he was proud to be one of Santa's helpers for twenty-seven years. Mike also enjoyed painting, finishing approximately 223 of 16x20 works of art in his lifetime.

Survivors include two sisters: Joan Brock of Kentucky and Sue Shingleton of Wellsville; and one brother, James Buren of East Liverpool. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the Campground Community Church, 1795 Hess Road in East Liverpool, with Pastor Tom Adkins officiating. Family and friends may call three hours prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with Mike's arrangements.
