Nellie Ruth Huff

WELLSVILLE - Nellie Ruth Huff, 75, of Wellsville, formerly of Fosters, AL and Joliet, IL, died Monday, December 31, 2012, at Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, South Carolina.

She was born February 28, 1937, in Fosters, AL, the daughter of the late Louis and Naomi (Murphy) Beal.

Nellie was a graduate of Wellsville High School. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she was a friend to everyone she met. She was a former cook in East Liverpool and also served as a live-in nanny for eight years with Dr. Bill and Karen Yount's family of Chicago, IL. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Lee's Chapel A.M.E. Church for forty years, and a member of The Order of the Eastern Star and The Imperial Court of the Daughters of Isis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Huff, Sr.

Survivors include four daughters: Vanessa Patrick and her husband Charles of Chesterfield, VA, Arnetta Beal of Gary, IN, Cora Beal of Lisbon, and Gwendolyn Huff of Phoenix, AZ.; seven sons: Dallas Beal and his wife Christine of Wellsville, Harvey McSwain and his wife Tracee of Fort Washington, MD, Jack Beal and his wife of Angelique of Calumet City, IL, Jerry Beal of Lincoln, NE, Joseph Beale of Chicago, IL, Chester Beal of Phoenix, AZ., and George Huff Jr. and Rochelle Mead of Powell, OH; and two sisters: Eddie "Buster" Murphy and Gwen Murphy. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren: Christopher (Katie) Beal, Dalte and Juleesa Beal, Matthew Neuch, Anthony Beal, Gary Tisdale, Mercedes Beal, Bernice "Bussie" Woodson and Brandon Woodson, Darnell Beal, Jordan and Jade McSwain, David Hartsfield, Ariel Love, Chris Beale, Joseph Beale, Tashala Beale, Dominique Beal, and Lemi Huff, in addition to over 100 great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nellie was preceded in death by one daughter: Lula Beal; one sister: Leola Martin; and one brother: Fuller Murphy.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at the First Baptist Church, 1401 Center Street, Wellsville, with Rev. Roosevelt Thompson of the church and Rev. Paula Guilford officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, January 7, 2013, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
