~~Norma Jean Chettle

TRINITY, FL - Norma Jean Chettle, 85, of Trinity, FL, formerly of Highlandtown, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in Florida.

She was born August 20, 1931, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Eldon C. Smith and Gladys Mae (Siddall) Smith-Bowersock. In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death on May 22, 2013, by her husband, Clarence C. "Red" Chettle, whom she married August 9, 1950. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Yvonne Swearingen.

Norma graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1949. She and her husband, Red, moved to Florida in 1960. She had been employed for twenty-four years as a registered nurse at Highland Regional Hospital in Sebring, FL, where she served as the director of surgery for fourteen years. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Trinity, FL.

Survivors include two daughters: Linda Rabb of Trinity, FL and Christine Rahn of Hudson, FL; one son, Randy Lee Chettle of Lakeland, FL; four sisters: Judy Maola of Glenmoor, Marjorie Strong of Hanoverton, Sue Roberts of Salem, and Sherry Faulk of Lisbon; and four brothers: Richard Bowersock of Wellsville, Garry Bowersock of Lisbon, William Bowersock of Wellsville, and James Bowersock of Rogers. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 15, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Maylone of the Wellsville United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Highlandtown Cemetery.
