Patricia Ann Poynter

EAST LIVERPOOL – Patricia Ann Poynter, 81, of East Liverpool, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Nentwick Care Center following a lengthy illness.

She was born September 3, 1932, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Erny and Ida (Smith) Edmundson.

She was preceded in death in 2002 by her husband, John Smith Poynter, whom she married May 26, 1953. In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Mayfield and Mary Louise "Peg" Rice; and two brothers: Howard Keith Edmundson and Charles Edmundson.

Patricia attended Wellsville High School. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to play cards and Bingo, and her family played cards twice a day, every day with her.

Survivors include two daughters: Arden Montgomery of East Liverpool, and Renae Montgomery and her husband, Don, of Wellsville; three sons: Clayton Poynter, Michael Poynter, and Ross Poynter, all of East Liverpool; one sister: Doris Bettis of Minerva; and one brother: Erny Edmundson of Cocoa Beach, FL. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Ryan and Jonathan Montgomery, Kandi Poynter, and Terry, Eric, and David Poynter; and seven great-grandchildren: Alyssa Deeley, Tyler and Caleb Poynter, and Madison, Natalie, Hailey, and Jacob Poynter.

To honor Patricia's wishes, no services will be held.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville was entrusted with arrangements.
