Patsy L. Patterson Moore

HAMMONDSVILLE - Patsy L. Patterson Moore, 73, of Hammondsville, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017, at the Laurels of Steubenville.

She was born January 29, 1944, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Walter and Grace (Straight) Patterson. In addition to her parents, Patsy was also preceded in death by two sisters: Polly Liberatore and Dorothy Patterson; and two brothers: Gene and John Patterson.

Patsy graduated from Wellsville High School in 1962. She worked for the former Moore's Furniture on 13th Street in Wellsville and then owned the former 12th Street Carry Out in Wellsville. Patsy most recently worked as a home health personal care aide. She was Wesleyan Holiness by faith and enjoyed sending Sunday text messages to encourage her friends and family through scriptures. Patsy also enjoyed Bible Study, reading, and sending homemade greeting cards for birthdays and holidays. Patsy will be fondly remembered for her unconditional love for her children, wonderful sense of humor, laughter, and her amazing ability to forgive.

Survivors include one daughter, Beth Mattingly and her husband, Troy, of English, IN; three sons: Gary Moore and his wife, Julie, of Brighton, TN, Patrick Moore and his wife, Amy, of Wellsville, and David Moore; one grandson whom she raised, Zachary Moore of Hammondsville; one sister, Amanda Fishback of Wellsville; and one brother, Edward Patterson of Wellsville. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Grayson, Katherine, Daniel, Frank Matthew, Patrick, Jr., and Gracie; and one great-grandchild, Oliver.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 21, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Treese of the Allegheny Wesleyan Church officiating.

Burial will be in Bethel United Presbyterian Cemetery.
