Phyllis Rae Petties

STEUBENVILLE - Phyllis Rae Petties, 66, of Steubenville, formerly of Wellsville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at her home.

She was born February 11, 1957, in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Clyde Myers and Cynthia Bernice (Powers) Porter. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Joann Adkins; three brothers: Raymond E. Porter, Robert M. Porter, and Richard L. Porter; and one niece, Andrea Brie Foster.

Phyllis had previously been employed at Pittsburgh International Airport, Connie's Corner, and most recently as a clerk for The Convenience Store in Steubenville. She enjoyed reading Stephen King novels, collecting cookie jars, and trying new recipes. More than anything, Phyllis enjoyed having family over for the holidays.

Survivors include one daughter, Ginny L. (Ronnie III) Mills of Hinesville, GA; three sons: Christopher (Zara) Grant of East Liverpool, Gregory J. Grant of East Liverpool, and George W. (Brooke) Petties III of Wellsville; two sisters: Susan (Gerald) Christian and Cynthia Adkins, both of East Liverpool; and one brother, Michael (Kitty) Adkins of East Liverpool. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Dale Hanlon, and her grandson, Nazyer Jackson, both at home. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Zienna, Zayden, Zavery, Malikye, Zyaire, Giarah, Rylo, Gianah, Lyllian, and Ronnie IV; and four nieces and nephews: Jason, Chanice, Tony, and Jordan. Phyllis will be deeply missed by the many who loved her.

According to Phyllis's wishes, no services will be held. Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with her arrangements.
