Richard L. Groves

HAMMONDSVILLE - Richard L. Groves, 77, of Hammondsville, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Calcutta Health Care Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 25, 1939, in Wellsville, the son of the late Harold and Amanda K. (Hackathorne) Groves. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Means, and his brother, Robert Groves.

Richard graduated from Wellsville High School in 1958. He was employed at the former Burkes Auto Store in Wellsville where he worked in the stock room. He attended Wellsville First Christian Church.

Survivors include one nephew: Robert (Gerry) Osborn of Wellsville; and three nieces: Becky (Angelo) Luckino, Barbara Nightingale, and Mary (Kenneth) DeLauder, all of Wellsville.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the church officiating.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
