Robert J. "Bob" Freeman

WELLSVILLE - Robert J. "Bob" Freeman, 69, of Wellsville, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 11, 1950, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Robert and Betty J. (Cornell) Freeman. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Galvin.

Bob served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1967-1970 and then again from 1972-1974 during the Vietnam War. He was employed for the village of Wellsville for thirty-two years. He worked on the street department for twenty-two years and was the Spring Hill Cemetery superintendent for ten years before retiring in 2006. Bob was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the VFW Post 5647 in Wellsville.

Survivors include his wife, Kim Freeman, whom he married January 26, 2000; one daughter, Jodie Freeman-Straight of Boardman; and one step-daughter, Linda Little-Herrick and her husband, Greg, of Toronto. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Jackson Straight, Kobe Herrick and Makenzie Thompson; one nephew, Robert "B.J." Freeman; and one niece, Michelle Depelteau.

The Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home.

Friends may call from 2:00-6:00 pm on Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
