Robert G. Highman

WELLSVILLE - Robert G. Highman, 91, of Wellsville, died Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born April 12, 1923, in Bens Run, WV, the son of the late Charles and Alberta (Howell) Highman.

Bob was preceded in death on April 2, 1991, by his wife, Glenola "Tinker" (Tallman) Highman, whom he married January 2, 1951. He was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Bob served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1952 during World War II and the Korean War. He was employed as a random inspector for Crucible Steel Mill before retiring in 1982. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 180, Scottish Rite of Steubenville, the Midland Sportsman Club, and a lifetime member of VFW Post 66 and American Legion Post 70. Bob was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his nephew, Harold "Chip" Highman of Venice, FL.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Columbiana County Memorial Park where full military honors will be accorded by the Tri-State Burial Group.
