Robert R. Keefer

WELLSVILLE - Robert R. Keefer, 79, of Wellsville, died Thursday, February 14, 2013, at home following a lengthy illness.

He was born June 29, 1933, in Sharon, PA., the son of the late Russell and Mary (Singleton) Keefer.

Bob served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War. He was employed for forty-four years as a maintainer with Conrail Railroad. He was a member of the American Legion Post 374, Wellsville Elks Lodge 1040, and the Wellsville VFW Post 5647. He attended Riverside Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carol (Morrow) Keefer, whom he married May 21, 1960; one daughter: Penny Dawson and her husband Jeff of Irondale; three sons: Robert Keefer, Jr. of Yuba City, CA, Jeff Keefer and his wife Barb of Newport News, VA, and Kevin Keefer of Wellsville; and one sister: June Brown and her husband Fred of Avon, NY. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by two sisters: Marian Sarchet and Clair Haller.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Monte of Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the Tri-State Burial Group.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
