Ronald Eugene Ross

WELLSVILLE - Ronald Eugene Ross, 85, of Wellsville, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born May 4, 1933, in Terlton, Oklahoma, the son of the late William and Lillie (Mercer) Ross. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death on August 6, 2011, by his wife and love of his life, Evelyn "Dee" (Beaver) Ross. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Billie Faye Ross.

Ron graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1951 and served in the United States Army from 1954-1956. He was employed for thirty-one years at the former Crucible Steel Mill before his retirement in 1982. Ron had been employed as the maintenance man and was a dedicated and loyal associate at Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville for the past twenty-five years. He was a friendly and familiar face at the funeral home, working up until two weeks before his passing.

Survivors include one daughter, Ronda Walker and her companion, Troy Smith, of Alliance, OH; and one son, Randy "Weasel" Ross and his wife, Lori, of Wellsville. Also surviving are two granddaughters: Brandee Ross of Wellsville and Briana (Logan) Curtis of Wellsville; three grandsons: Ryan (Jenna) Walker of Louisville, OH, Matthew (Kelcey) Walker of Alliance, OH, and Adam Walker of Alliance, OH; and twelve great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Boone officiating. The Tri-State Burial Group will accord full military honors at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
