WELLSVILLE - Rose M. Gibas, 95, of Wellsville, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

She was born September 24, 1928, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Gallo) DiCello. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death on March 14, 2021, by her husband, John J. Gibas, whom she married March 22, 1969. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Kate D'Angelo and Margaret DiCello; and two brothers: Frank DiCello and Anthony DiCello.

Rose graduated from Wellsville High School in 1947. She was a self-employed hairdresser and also worked as a clerk at JCPenney. She enjoyed sewing and gardening, and she was an active member of the Wellsville Alumni Association. Rose was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church and Holy Trinity Parish.

Family was everything to Rose, and she cherished the memories she made with all of them. Survivors include a loving extended family of many nieces and nephews including Mike, John (Sylvia), Tony, Jim (Anita), and Mary Ann DiCello, Kathy Taylor, Buzz (Patti) DiCello, Tony D'Angelo, Mary Gail (Larry) Kimmel, Bob Barth, Joann (Mark) Niemeyer, Michael (Chantel) Brown, Robert (Rita) Brown, Patty (Patrick) Tolson, Janet (Earl) Campbell, Joan (Tom) Reed, and Betty (Jim) Oyster. There are also many great-nieces and great-nephews surviving.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Leo Wehrlin and Rev. Joseph Cardone at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Holy Trinity Parish, 235 W 5th Street, East Liverpool, OH  43920.

Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
