Ruby E. Montgomery

WELLSVILLE - Ruby E. Montgomery, 92, of Wellsville, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at home after suddenly becoming ill.

She was born December 27, 1922, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late William and Clara (Clark) Swearingen.

Ruby graduated from Wellsville High School in 1941. She worked for several years at the former Koontz Market, as a receptionist for Dr. Kemeny, and retired from the dietary department at East Liverpool City Hospital.

Survivors include one daughter: Carole Cooper and her husband, Archie, of West Palm Beach, FL; one son: Randall Plunkett and his wife, Donna, of Boardman; and one step-son: David Frye of Calcutta. Also surviving are four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles Swearingen and Earl McLaughlin.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, April 20, 2015, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Maylone of the Wellsville United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 pm and 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
