SALINEVILLE - Ruth Iva Bergert, 83, of Salineville, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024, at Valley Oaks Care Center.

She was born September 14, 1940, in Salineville, the daughter of the late Albert F. and Aileen R. (Clark) Gearin. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by two sisters: Doris Finn and Mary Sprouse; and one brother, Edward Gearin.

Ruth graduated from Salineville High School in 1958. She was previously employed for eighteen years as a laborer for TRW in Minerva and for twenty-eight years at Summitville Tile. She was a member of the Salineville Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include two sons: Allen (Joni) Bergert of Wellsville and Doug (Debra) Bergert of Temple, TX; and two brothers: John Gearin of Salineville and David Gearin of Rockdale, TX. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Jeremy, Jordan, Hannah, and Hailey of Temple, TX, and Jillian of Wellsville; as well as three great-grandchildren: Hudson, Parker, and Olivia.

The funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Salineville Assembly of God Church, 221 Jefferson Street, with Pastor Rodney Ohler officiating. Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with Ruth's arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in Ruth's name to the Salineville Assembly of God Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
