WELLSVILLE - Ruth E. Hood, 94, of Wellsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

She was born November 12, 1931, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Woolley) Morris. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death on January 12, 2020, by her husband, Herbert L. Hood, Jr., whom she married January 7, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her step-son, Paul (Jennifer) Hood; and her siblings: Betty Reight, Donna Todd, John Morris, Jr., Robert Morris, and Glenn Morris.

Ruth graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1949. She was previously employed for 14 years as a housekeeper at Waterford Park and had also worked at the East Liverpool Country Club for two years. Ruth enjoyed working in her garden and was a 20 year member of the East Liverpool and Calcutta Area Garden Club. She was a member of Longs Run Presbyterian Church where she was an active member of the Women's Circle.

Survivors include her children: Cathy (Glenn) Wollam of Wellsville, Sue (Jack) Stacy of Negley, and David (Robin) Morris of Beauford, SC; and her step-daughter, Cathy Hood of Ohio. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Blakeley of the Wellsville First Christian Church officiating.

Burial will be in Longs Run Cemetery.

Family and friends may visit from 12:00 - 2:00 pm on Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
