Ruth E. Kruel

IRONDALE - Ruth E. Kruel, 79, of Irondale, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

She was born July 4, 1941, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Oscar Baker and Daisey (Spencer) Fishback. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death on December 28, 1997, by her husband, William Kruel, Sr., whom she married June 25, 1960. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Susan Lynn Kruel; her step-father, Stanley Fishback; three brothers: Charles Spears, William Baker, and Harry Fishback; and her brother-in-law, James Hood.

Ruth had been employed as a clerk at Hills Department Store until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Irondale Ladies Auxiliary and the Irondale United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Edmond and her husband, John, of Hammondsville; her son, William "Bill" Kruel, Jr. of Irondale; her sister, Margaret Hood of Irondale; and one brother, Stanley Fishback and his wife, Charlotte, of Salem. Also surviving are four grandchildren: John Jr., Julie, Luci, and Lanie; and two great-grandchildren: Aiden and Bella.

According to Ruth's wishes, no services will be held. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville is entrusted with her arrangements.
