Ruth L. Ward

WELLSVILLE - Ruth L. Ward, 68, of Wellsville, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the Adkins Care Center.

She was born October 14, 1943, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Paul and Ruth (Wooden) Hughes.

Ruth graduated from Wellsville High School in 1963 and was a loving homemaker. She was Protestant by faith. Ruth was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a Hulk Hogan fan.

Survivors include two daughters: Catherine Anne "Cate" Ward of Wellsville, and Deborah Sue Thordor and her husband Martin of Austin, Minnesota; four sisters: Susan Walker and her husband James of Wellsville, Roberta Davis of Lisbon, Carol McCauley of East Liverpool, and Gloria Hughes of Wellsville; and one brother: Paul Hughes and his wife Sharon of Lisbon. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Rebecca Mason, Paul Mason, Harley Roberts, Zane Roberts, Kaytlynn Thordor, and Gauge Thordor; one great-granddaughter: Aubree Jean Meyer; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 28, 2012, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Ellen Krokenberger, chaplain of the Southern Care Hospice, officiating.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
