Sally L. Nicholson

EAST LIVERPOOL - Sally L. Nicholson, 82, of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

She was born February 1, 1935, in Wellsville, the daughter of the late Elmer B. and Mary E.(Taggart) Wellington. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by one grandson, Mitchell Ryan Nicholson.

Sally graduated from Wellsville High School in 1952. She was a member of the GlenmoorPresbyterian Church where she enjoyed the Bible study group. Sally volunteered her time for twenty-six years in the snack bar at East Liverpool City Hospital. She was a fifty-year member of the Town and Country Card Club as well as a member of Glenmoor TOPS. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sally enjoyed cooking, especially her homemade noodles. She also enjoyed casino days with her sister and playing cards and Scrabble.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Harold "Jake" Nicholson, whom she married August 18, 1952; three daughters: Janet (Jerry) Barnes of East Liverpool, Lisa Auer (Ross Lentini) of East Liverpool, and Pat (Daniel) Wallace of Ozark, AL; two sons: Jake (Candy) Nicholson of Wellsville and Michael Nicholson (Charlie Milton) of Houston, TX; one sister,Nancy (Ron) Dailey of Wellsville; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Mary Bucher of Wellsville; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Nicholson of East Liverpool; twelve grandchildren: Jerry (Heather) Barnes, Neil (Nickie) Barnes, Carrie (Abe) Klaserner, Brooke (Seth) Birch, Jake (Lauren) Nicholson, Blake (Ashley) Nicholson, Michela (Nate) Nicholson, Alycia Nicholson, John Auer, Regis Auer, Mackenzie Wallace, and Conner Wallace; and twelve great-grandchildren: Anthony, Adrianna, Christian, and Madison Barnes, Benaiah, Isaac, Josiah, and Halle Klaserner, Alexa and Nicholas Aldrich, Giovanni Birch, and Luke Nicholson. Also surviving is Sally's beloved pet dog, Babe.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Vel Vais of the church officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
