WELLSVILLE - Shawn Christopher Mason, 48, of Wellsville, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh following a brief illness.

He was born August 6, 1976, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Carla Pastore and Gary Mason, Sr.

Shawn graduated from Southern Local High School in 1995. He was employed as a toll booth operator on the Wayne Six Toll Bridge. Shawn had many hobbies but especially enjoyed playing video games and anything to do with guns. He was an expert marksman and could have rebuilt a gun blindfolded. He was rarely seen without a cup of coffee in his hand.

Survivors include his fiancee, Jennifer Burkett of Wellsville; eight children: Marissa (Shane) Brandle of East Liverpool, Alexis (Daniel Duke) Burkett of Hammondsville, Rebecca Thordor of Austin, MN, Samantha (Matt VanKirk) Burkett of Rogers, Janean (Christopher Jones) Burkett of East Liverpool, Paul (Samantha Kohnert) Mason of Austin, MN, Chance Burkett of Wellsville, and Sophia Coil of Wellsville; and one brother, Gary (Marecia Neville) Mason, Jr. of East Liverpool. Also surviving are eighteen grandchildren: Mia, Paizlynn, Daiton, Jacobi, Riott, Ellie, Lennon, Legend, Journey, Jaxon, Serenity, Corey, Jude, Hudson, Fynn, Kayden, Landyn, and Karalynn; and his aunt, Iva (Ralph) VanDyke of Wellsville. Shawn also leaves behind his best friend and fur-baby, Gizmo.
