WELLSVILLE - Sherrill L. Jackson, 78, of Wellsville, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 17, 2025, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

She was born August 3, 1946, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Thomas and Garnetta (Parsons) Lysle. In addition to her parents, Sherrill was preceded in death on January 24, 2014, by her husband, Jerry Jackson, whom she married February 13, 1965. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Lombardozzi, and her son, Jesse Jackson.

Sherrill graduated from Stanton Local High School in 1964. She was previously employed as a waitress for 32 years at Golden Carry Out in Wellsville before her retirement. She was also employed for 20 years as an independent driver for the East Liverpool Review. Sherrill was very active in numerous churches over the years. She was a member and organist for 35 years at the Central United Methodist Church in Wellsville and the Hammondsville United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Wild Bunch at Central United Methodist and was a part-time organist at Irondale Methodist Church. She attended Irondale Christ Community Church and Hammondsville Global Methodist Church. Sherrill was also an active member of the Wellsville community, especially in the Wellsville Football Boosters and Wellsville Band Boosters programs, where she could be seen on many Friday nights for 25+ years working the concession stand at the football games.

Survivors include two sons: Jerald "Bodine" (Allison Butts) Jackson and Gene Lysle, both of Wellsville; two step-daughters: Mary Jane Jackson of Texas and Rhonda Jackson of California; and one brother, Thomas (Kathleen) Lysle, Jr. of Hammondsville. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Josh and Jeremiah Jackson, Savanna Jackson, and Keila Lombardozzi; and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Crowe officiating.

Burial will be in Hammondsville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 - 6:30 pm on Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
