Shirley M. Crook, 94, of York, PA., formerly of the area, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Manor Care South Nursing Home in York, PA.

She was born October 8, 1918 in Canonsburg, PA., a daughter of the late John and Maude (Vaughn) Patterson.

Shirley was a 1936 graduate of East Liverpool High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wellsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert "Bob" Crook, on June 25, 1999. They were married on June 27, 1941.

Shirley is survived by two sons: James Crook of Tenafly, New Jersey and Jeff Crook of York, PA.; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

No visitation or services are planned at this time. Burial took place in Spring Hill Cemetery, Wellsville.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Roberts Funeral Home, Wellsville, was in charge of arrangements.
