Thelma Gay Headley

WELLSVILLE - Thelma Gay Headley, 83, of Wellsville, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Park Center Health Care Center in Boardman.

She was born July 13, 1933, in Reader, WV, the daughter of the late Okey and Rose (Furbee) Edgell. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death on October 28, 2015, by her husband, Paul R. Headley, whom she married July 3, 1952. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy.

Thelma graduated from Wellsville High School in 1952. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a member of Wellsville First Christian Church where she and Paul were very active in many of the church's activities.

Survivors include two daughters: Lynn Payne and her husband, Mike, of Leesburg, FL., and Susan McDowell and her husband, James, of Mt. Vernon, OH; one son, Robert Headley and his wife, Kristie, of Summerville, GA; two sisters: Grace Mick of Sun City, AZ and Betty Smith of Ohioville, PA; one adopted sister, Paula Felekey of Chester, WV; and one half-brother, William Edgell of East Liverpool. Also surviving are four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street, with Pastor Mark Blakeley officiating.

The family will be present to receive friends and relatives at the church two hours prior to the service.

Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Thelma's name to: Wellsville First Christian Church, 831 Main Street, Wellsville, OH 43968.
