LISBON - Thomas Leroy "Tom" Shafer, 73, of Lisbon, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born August 28, 1952, in Salem, the son of the late Thomas and Flora (Ross) Shafer. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death on March 21, 2015, by his wife, Janet (Clutter) Shafer, whom he married May 6, 1978. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Patti Jo "PJ" McCoy and Sally Williams.

Tom graduated from Wellsville High School and proudly served in the United Stated Navy. He was previously employed as a foreman for Wellsville Foundry. Tom enjoyed woodworking and lots of fishing, and he was a member of the Wellsville Eagles Aerie 772.

Survivors include three sons: Charlie Shafer and Andy Shafer, both of Lisbon, and Tommy Shafer; and one grandson, Talon Strickland.

Family and friends may visit from 4:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville. The Eagles will conduct a service at 5:30 pm.

Burial will be in Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary contributions be made to Roberts Funeral Home to assist with funeral arrangements.
