WELLSVILLE - Timothy Scott "Timmy" LaClair, 56, of Wellsville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 16, 2025, at his home.

He was born October 14, 1968, in East Liverpool, the son of the late Geraldine (Culp) and Glenn A. LaClair, II.

Timmy graduated from Wellsville High School and was previously employed with the Wellsville and Lisbon Police Departments before retiring in 2012 as the Chief of Police in Salineville. He then went to work as a welder and maintenance man at Homer Laughlin China Company, a job that he looked forward to every day and where he was loved by his fellow employees.  He was also the third generation owner and operator of General Welding Company in Wellsville. Timmy grew up in the family business, and his handiwork can be seen all over Wellsville and surrounding townships. He welded the cap for the beehive kiln on Wells Avenue, completed many of the railings in town including the ones at Roberts Funeral Home and the Eagles, welded the buckets on the dump trucks for the village, and constructed many of the fire escapes, just to name a few. Carrying on his family tradition was one of the most important things to him. Timmy had an amazing mind and was incredibly intelligent, not only about welding, but about many different subjects. He never forgot anything.

Timmy was an amazing athlete and excelled in football, basketball, and baseball. To quote a coach from an opposing team, Timmy was an "All- American Badass". He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed attending the games in The Shoe. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer, rabbit and squirrel hunting.

Above all else in life, Timmy was an outgoing, fun-loving guy that loved to have a good time and make others laugh. He wanted everyone around him to enjoy life as he did. He was a family man who adored his grandchildren, and they were the center of his universe. He was the head of the family and affectionately referred to as "The Godfather".

Survivors include his wife, Dawn (Williams) LaClair; his son, Tim (Tori) LaClair of Lisbon; and his siblings: Glenda (Jim) Gasparine of Sellersburg, IN, Charlotte LaClair of Minerva, and Glenn (Tamma) LaClair, III of East Liverpool. Also surviving are his three grandchildren: Maddoxx, Waylon, and Hayven LaClair.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 - 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.

A private burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to continue celebrating Timmy's life at the Wellsville VFW, 359 Main Street, from 1:00-5:00 pm on Tuesday.
