Vera Excell James

BENTON CITY, WA - Vera Excell James, 92, of Benton City, WA, formerly of Wellsville, died Saturday, November 15, 2014.

She was born March 26, 1922, in Grafton, WV, the daughter of the late Floyd and Goldie (Boyce) Freeze.

Vera graduated from Wellsville High School in 1940. She was a member of the former Central United Methodist Church in Wellsville.

Vera was preceded in death in 1970 by her first husband, Robert H. Excell, whom she married in June of 1943, and in 1992 by her second husband, Edwin James, after one year of marriage.

Survivors include three sons: Robert H. Excell, Jr. of Hemet, CA, Bruce A. Excell of Benton City, WA, and Gregory B. Excell of Shady Shores, TX; and one step-son: Ronnie James of Texas. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, Vera was preceded in death by two sisters: Helen Faloon and Irene Clark.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, at the gravesite of Robert Excell in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Roberts Funeral Home in Wellsville.
