Virgil "Pete" Halfhill

EAST LIVERPOOL - Virgil "Pete" Halfhill, 81, of East Liverpool, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, at his daughter's home with his family by his side.

He was born December 23, 1930, in Wellsville, the son of the late Marion Halfhill and Audrey (Whiteman) Halfhill-Dinch.

Virgil was a millwright for 24 years at the former Crucible Steel Mill before retiring in 1982.

Survivors include his wife, Greta (Crook) Halfhill, whom he married June 3, 1950; three daughters: Deborah Crawford of Oxford, AL, Vicki Donahue of East Liverpool, and Tina Gorby of East Liverpool; and one sister: Rosemary Cronin of Wellsville. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Virgil was preceded in death by one grandson, one great-grandson, and two brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Bias of the Ohioview Church of Christ officiating.
