Virginia Eileen Corbett

EAST LIVERPOOL - Virginia Eileen Corbett, 93, of East Liverpool, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Calcutta Health Care Center.

She was born September 12, 1925, in East Liverpool, the daughter of the late Alfred and Ines (Mattern) Wright. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death on August 3, 2016, by her husband of seventy-three years, Robert "Bob" Corbett, whom she married May 8, 1943. She was also preceded in death by a son, William "Billy" Corbett; a daughter, Roberta "Bertie" Staley; and two brothers: John "Jack" Wright and Dale Wright.

Virginia graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1943. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the East Liverpool Salvation Army. She taught children and adult Sunday school classes for over twenty years. She was also active in Girl Guards and the Ladies Home League.

Survivors include her sons: Rev. Jeffrey Corbett of Youngstown, and Galen Corbett and his wife, Mary, of East Liverpool; her daughters: Carol Stover and her husband, Jerry, of East Liverpool, and Suzanne McKinnon of Tempe, AZ; and her dear sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Charlie Brooks of Burbank, CA. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter, three great-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren with another one on the way.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, November 19, 2018, at the Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Cilone of The Heights Church officiating.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Sunday at the Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main Street in Wellsville.
